Newtown Services  has grown considerably in 2006. We opened 2 new UK satellite offices in Warrington and London to service the many projects we have, the length and breadth of the country.

Polish Operation

CSCS Touch-Screen Testing in Warsaw:

In consultation with CITB & Thomson Prometric, Newtown have been running CSCS training and mock-testing at our training centre in Warsaw. This has resulted in a pass rate of over 98%, when our Polish Operatives sit the test in the UK.

From January 2007, Newtown will be able to get our Operatives tested in Warsaw under the same conditions and administration as currently done in the UK. This will allow us to speed up the process of getting CSCS carded Polish Operatives for the Major Developments we will work on.

In April 2005, we opened our new Polish HQ at the WARSAW FINANCIAL CENTRE a new prestigious high-rise building in the heart of the City.

Training & Assessment Centre

Last Year we opened our new Training and Assessment Centre, 8km from the centre of Warsaw, where we hold 1 week Assesment and Training courses to select, evaluate and prime Candidates chosen directly by our Clients at Assessment stage. The Centre focuses on skills specific to UK work practices and provides teaching on Health & Safety with mock CSCS touch-screen tests. The courses we run are residential and we can accommodate up to 20 Candidates per week, providing sleeping facilities and 3 cooked meals per day.

The Centre has been created in response to our House Building and Formwork Clients, who can now select the best Candidates available directly and ensure that the correct safety information is being provided prior to the Operatives coming to the UK. The Centre is running Formwork, Tilling and Brick-laying courses and will also incorporate Plastering, Scaffolding & Landscape Courses throughout the year. The Centre can also be used for Clients who would like any type of training prior to Operatives being sent from Poland to the UK, the training could be Industrial or Construction.

Newtown Construction has been set up from our Porto Office and we are looking for complete House Building Contracts, along with Sub-contract work on Stone and Ceramic tilling.

In 2007, Newtown will be piloting an Apprenticeship and Training Scheme to create a more long-term fix to bridge the "Skills Gap" offering Candidates an opportunity to gain an Apprenticeship through work experience as Agency Placements, with a day release for Trades College.
